Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be available for purchases made through Asiyst, including AI credits, subscriptions, usage-based services, and other paid features. This policy should be read together with the Asiyst Payment Terms, Terms of Service, and other applicable policies.
1. Scope
This Refund Policy applies to payments made for Asiyst products and services, including where applicable:
- Asiyst AI Credits.
- Credit recharges.
- Subscriptions.
- Paid plans.
- Usage-based services.
- Paid features.
- Other purchases offered through Asiyst.
Different products or contractual arrangements may have additional refund terms.
2. General Refund Principle
Refund eligibility depends on the nature of the purchase, whether the service has been used, the reason for the request, applicable law, and the payment method involved.
A payment is not automatically refundable merely because a customer no longer wishes to use the Services.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
3. Credit Purchases
Asiyst may allow customers to purchase AI Credits or other prepaid usage balances.
Once credits have been purchased, refund eligibility may depend on whether the credits have been used or consumed.
Unused credits may be eligible for a refund where permitted by the applicable purchase terms and circumstances.
4. Used Credits
Credits that have already been consumed through eligible Asiyst usage generally cannot be refunded.
Consumption may include:
- AI requests.
- API usage.
- AI model processing.
- Assistant interactions.
- Other metered functionality.
- Other services charged against the applicable credit balance.
5. Partially Used Credit Purchases
If a credit purchase has been partially used, Asiyst may determine the refundable amount based on:
- The original purchase amount.
- Credits already consumed.
- Credits remaining.
- Applicable taxes.
- Payment-provider limitations.
- Any applicable promotional credits.
Where a refund is approved, previously consumed usage may be deducted from the refundable amount.
6. Promotional Credits
Promotional, bonus, trial, or complimentary credits generally have no cash value and are not refundable.
Promotional credits may also have additional expiration, usage, or eligibility conditions.
7. Free Credits
Credits provided without payment generally cannot be converted into cash or refunded.
Free credits may be revoked or adjusted where they were issued incorrectly, obtained through abuse, or used in violation of applicable policies.
8. Subscription Payments
If Asiyst offers subscriptions, subscription payments are generally charged according to the applicable subscription terms.
Cancellation of a subscription does not automatically create a refund for a payment that has already been processed.
9. Subscription Cancellation
Customers may cancel a subscription according to the available cancellation process.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated in the applicable plan terms, cancellation normally prevents future renewal rather than automatically refunding the current billing period.
10. Subscription Upgrades
If a customer upgrades a subscription, the applicable payment system may charge the customer according to the upgrade terms displayed at the time of the transaction.
Any prorated amount or adjustment will depend on the applicable billing system and plan configuration.
11. Subscription Downgrades
Downgrading a subscription generally affects a future billing period unless the applicable plan specifically provides otherwise.
A downgrade does not automatically result in a refund for the current billing period.
12. Duplicate Charges
If the same transaction is accidentally charged more than once because of a confirmed billing or processing error, the duplicate charge may be eligible for correction or refund.
Customers should report suspected duplicate charges as soon as reasonably possible.
13. Failed Payments
A failed payment does not create a refund obligation because the transaction may not have successfully completed.
If a payment appears to have been deducted from a customer's payment method despite being reported as failed, the customer should provide the relevant transaction information so the payment status can be investigated.
14. Pending Payments
A pending payment may not represent a completed charge.
Payment providers may temporarily authorize or reserve funds while processing a transaction.
Customers should generally allow the payment provider to complete or release the transaction before requesting a refund based solely on a pending status.
15. Payment Processing Errors
If Asiyst or its payment provider confirms that a payment was incorrectly processed, Asiyst may correct the transaction or issue an appropriate refund.
The resolution may depend on the payment provider's transaction records.
16. Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe a transaction was made without your authorization, contact Asiyst promptly and also contact your payment provider where appropriate.
We may investigate the transaction and request information necessary to determine whether unauthorized activity occurred.
17. Fraudulent Transactions
Transactions associated with suspected fraud may be subject to investigation.
Asiyst may suspend affected accounts, restrict access, revoke credits, or take other appropriate measures while investigating suspected fraudulent activity.
Refunds relating to fraudulent transactions may depend on the investigation and applicable payment-provider procedures.
18. Chargebacks
Customers should contact Asiyst before initiating a chargeback where the issue can reasonably be resolved through the normal support or refund process.
If a chargeback is initiated, Asiyst may provide relevant transaction and account information to the payment provider or financial institution as permitted by applicable law.
19. Chargeback Abuse
Repeated or fraudulent chargebacks may result in:
- Account restrictions.
- Suspension.
- Cancellation of services.
- Revocation of unused credits.
- Restrictions on future purchases.
These actions do not limit any rights available under applicable law.
20. Refund Requests
A refund request should include sufficient information to identify the transaction.
This may include:
- Account email address.
- Transaction identifier.
- Purchase date.
- Amount charged.
- Product or service purchased.
- Reason for the request.
- Relevant supporting information.
Do not send full payment-card numbers or other unnecessary sensitive financial information.
21. Refund Review
Refund requests may be reviewed based on:
- Transaction records.
- Account history.
- Usage records.
- Credit consumption.
- Subscription status.
- Payment-provider information.
- Previous refund activity.
- Applicable contractual terms.
- Applicable law.
Additional information may be requested when necessary to verify the transaction.
22. Refund Eligibility
A refund may be considered where:
- A duplicate payment is confirmed.
- A billing error is confirmed.
- A payment was incorrectly processed.
- A service was charged despite a confirmed technical failure that prevented the purchased service from being delivered.
- A refund is expressly provided under applicable purchase terms.
- A refund is required by applicable law.
- Asiyst determines that a refund is appropriate under the circumstances.
Approval of one refund does not establish an obligation to approve future refunds involving different circumstances.
23. Technical Service Failures
If a confirmed Asiyst technical failure prevents a paid service from being delivered, Asiyst may provide an appropriate remedy.
Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:
- Restoration of service.
- Credit adjustment.
- Replacement credits.
- Service extension.
- Partial refund.
- Full refund.
The appropriate remedy depends on the nature and duration of the issue and the affected service.
24. Service Availability
Temporary interruptions, maintenance, network failures, third-party outages, or provider failures do not automatically create a refund entitlement.
Service availability is governed by the applicable Service Availability / Status Policy and, where applicable, Service Level Agreement.
25. Third-Party AI Provider Issues
Asiyst may depend on third-party AI providers to process certain requests.
If a third-party provider experiences an outage, model failure, rate limitation, or other service issue, the availability and refund implications may depend on:
- Whether Asiyst charged for the affected usage.
- Whether usage was actually consumed.
- Whether the issue was attributable to Asiyst.
- The applicable provider arrangement.
- The applicable service terms.
26. Customer-Provided AI Providers
If a customer uses their own AI provider account or API credentials, Asiyst is generally not responsible for charges imposed directly by that provider.
Refund requests for third-party provider charges should generally be directed to the applicable provider.
27. Payment Provider Fees
Refunds may be subject to limitations imposed by the payment provider.
Where permitted by applicable law and disclosed at the time of purchase, certain third-party transaction fees may not be recoverable.
28. Taxes
The treatment of taxes on a refund depends on applicable tax law and the original transaction.
Where a refund is processed, applicable tax adjustments may be made according to the requirements of the relevant jurisdiction.
29. Currency Conversion
If a payment was made in a currency different from the currency used by the payment provider or customer's financial institution, the amount received after a refund may differ because of exchange-rate changes.
Asiyst does not generally control exchange rates or foreign-exchange fees imposed by banks or payment providers.
30. Refund Method
Where possible, approved refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method.
Alternative refund methods may be used where the original payment method is unavailable or where required by the applicable payment provider.
31. Refund Processing Time
Once a refund is approved, the time required for funds to appear may depend on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, payment method, and jurisdiction.
A refund marked as completed by Asiyst may therefore take additional time to appear in the customer's account.
32. Refund Confirmation
Where applicable, Asiyst may provide confirmation that a refund has been initiated or completed.
The confirmation does not necessarily mean the funds have already appeared in the customer's bank or payment account.
33. Account Closure
Closing or deleting an Asiyst account does not automatically create a refund for previous purchases.
Refund eligibility remains subject to this policy, applicable purchase terms, and applicable law.
34. Remaining Credits After Account Closure
Unused purchased credits may be treated according to the applicable credit and account terms.
Account closure does not automatically convert credits into cash.
Where a refund is legally required or expressly permitted, the applicable refund process will apply.
35. Promotional Pricing
Purchases made using promotional pricing are subject to the conditions disclosed with the promotion.
A discount or promotional price does not necessarily create a separate refund entitlement.
36. Free Trials
Where Asiyst offers a free trial, the trial terms may specify:
- Trial duration.
- Included functionality.
- Usage limits.
- Eligibility.
- Conversion conditions.
- Cancellation requirements.
A free trial does not create a refund obligation unless a charge occurs contrary to the disclosed trial terms or applicable law.
37. Trial Conversion
If a trial automatically converts into a paid plan, the applicable conversion terms will be disclosed where required.
Customers should cancel before the applicable conversion time if they do not want the paid subscription to begin.
If a customer was charged contrary to the disclosed trial terms, the transaction may be reviewed for correction or refund.
38. Refunds for Regulatory or Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict mandatory rights provided by applicable consumer-protection, payment, privacy, or other laws.
Where local law provides a right to cancel, withdraw, or obtain a refund, those rights will apply to the extent required by law.
39. Business and Enterprise Customers
Business or enterprise customers may be subject to negotiated commercial agreements.
If a written agreement contains specific refund, cancellation, credit, or payment provisions, those provisions may govern the applicable transaction.
40. Resellers and Third-Party Purchases
If you purchase Asiyst services through an authorized reseller, marketplace, or other third party, the third party's refund terms may apply to the transaction.
You may need to request the refund directly from the party that processed the payment.
41. Gifted or Transferred Credits
Credits that are transferred, gifted, resold, or otherwise provided to another account may be subject to additional restrictions.
Unauthorized resale or transfer may result in cancellation of the affected credits.
42. Account Abuse
Refunds may be denied or restricted where there is evidence of:
- Fraud.
- Payment abuse.
- Repeated unauthorized transactions.
- Multiple accounts created to exploit promotions.
- Credit manipulation.
- Chargeback abuse.
- Circumvention of billing controls.
- Other violations of applicable policies.
This does not limit mandatory legal rights.
43. Refunds and Data Deletion
Requesting a refund does not automatically delete an account or its information.
Similarly, deleting an account does not automatically trigger a refund.
Data deletion is governed separately by the Data Deletion Policy and applicable privacy requirements.
44. Refunds and Service Termination
If an account is terminated for violation of applicable terms or policies, the termination does not automatically create a refund.
Outstanding obligations may remain payable where applicable.
45. Credit Adjustments Instead of Refunds
In certain situations, Asiyst may resolve an issue by adjusting the customer's credit balance rather than issuing a monetary refund.
This may be appropriate where:
- Credits were incorrectly deducted.
- A technical issue affected usage.
- A service interruption caused an incorrect charge.
- A billing measurement error occurred.
The appropriate remedy depends on the circumstances.
46. Incorrect Usage Measurement
If a customer believes their usage was incorrectly measured, they should report the issue with relevant transaction or usage information.
Asiyst may review applicable usage records and make corrections where an error is confirmed.
47. Billing Disputes
Customers should provide sufficient information to allow Asiyst to investigate billing disputes.
Relevant information may include:
- Account identifier.
- Transaction identifier.
- Date and time.
- Amount.
- Product or service.
- Description of the issue.
48. Refund Abuse Prevention
Asiyst may maintain records of refund requests and outcomes to detect fraudulent or abusive refund activity.
Such records may be processed for security, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal purposes.
49. No Automatic Refund for Non-Use
Failure to use a purchased service does not by itself guarantee a refund.
For example, purchasing credits and subsequently choosing not to use them does not automatically create a refund right unless applicable terms or law provide otherwise.
50. No Automatic Refund for Dissatisfaction With AI Output
AI-generated results can vary and may not always meet a user's expectations.
Dissatisfaction with an AI response does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
Where a technical billing or service-delivery issue occurred, the customer may request a review.
51. No Refund for Third-Party Charges
Charges made directly by external providers, including customer-owned AI provider accounts, are generally outside Asiyst's refund process.
Customers should contact the applicable provider regarding those charges.
52. Refund Decision
Where a refund is discretionary, Asiyst will review the relevant circumstances and applicable records.
A refund decision for one transaction does not establish a guarantee for another transaction.
53. Contacting Asiyst
Refund requests and billing questions should be submitted through the available Asiyst support or billing contact method.
Customers should provide sufficient transaction information while avoiding unnecessary disclosure of sensitive payment information.
54. Changes to This Refund Policy
Asiyst may update this Refund Policy when its payment systems, products, services, legal obligations, or refund practices change.
The updated policy will be made available through the applicable Asiyst website or service.
55. Relationship With Other Policies
This Refund Policy should be read together with:
- Payment Terms.
- Terms of Service.
- Privacy Policy.
- Data Deletion Policy.
- Data Retention Policy.
- Service Availability / Status Policy.
- Service Level Agreement.
- Applicable subscription terms.
- Applicable purchase terms.
If a written commercial agreement expressly governs a particular transaction, that agreement may control to the extent specified in that agreement.
56. Contact
If you have questions regarding a refund, billing transaction, credit purchase, subscription, or payment issue, contact Asiyst through the applicable support or billing contact method provided on the Asiyst website.
