Create an Avatar
Step-by-step tutorial on creating, rigging, testing, and assigning an avatar character from scratch.
Overview
This guide walks you through creating and deploying your first animated visual character to your website in under 5 minutes.
Step 1: Select a Base Character or Upload FBX
- Open the Asiyst Dashboard and click Avatars > + Create Avatar.
- Choose either:
- Template Library: Pick from over 20 pre-built 3D mascots (e.g., *Nova the Robot*, *Atlas the Guide*, *Pixel the Bot*).
- Custom FBX Upload: Upload your primary character
.fbxfile (Mixamo or custom humanoid model).
Step 2: Configure Naming & Metadata
- Avatar Name: Give your character a recognizable name (e.g.,
Acme Support Guide).
- Brand Theme: Match the avatar's highlight color to your brand's primary hex code (e.g.,
#f0c674).
Step 3: Bind Animation States
Assign animation clips to core state machine triggers:
- Idle: Seamless floating or breathing cycle.
- Greet / Wave: A 2-second friendly hand wave triggered on initial page landing.
- Talking: Subtle jaw / bone movement synchronized with voice synthesis.
- Thinking: Inquisitive head tilt or floating glow during model inference.
Step 4: Assign to Project Assistant
- Go to Assistants > Your Assistant > Avatar.
- Select your newly published avatar from the dropdown.
- Click Save & Publish. The character will immediately appear on your connected website.
