Idle Animation
Configure seamless looping idle animations, floating bob effects, eye blinking, and breathing cycles.
Overview
The Idle Animation is the default animation loop played whenever the character is awaiting visitor interaction. A high-quality idle animation makes the assistant feel alive and responsive without distracting from reading website content.
Idle Animation Requirements
- Loop Seamlessness: The first frame and last frame must match bone rotations and translations identically to avoid visible "snapping".
- Duration: Recommended cycle length is between 3.0 and 6.0 seconds.
- Bone Rigging: Standard humanoid spine and neck bones with subtle weight shifting.
Procedural Micro-Animations
In addition to the skeletal animation track, the Asiyst renderer injects subtle procedural dynamics:
- Randomized Blinking: Eye lids blink every 3–7 seconds using Poisson distribution.
- Harmonic Floating: Floating avatars bob up and down along a sine wave ($pm 4\text{px}$).
Optimizing Idle Loop Performance
The idle animation uses hardware-accelerated vertex shaders. When the browser tab is hidden, the animation loop drops to 0 FPS, preventing CPU and battery drain.
