Overview

Knowledge synchronization keeps your local documentation and GitHub repositories in lockstep with the Asiyst Cloud knowledge base.

CLI Sync Skipping Files

By default, asiyst knowledge sync skips files matching .gitignore patterns or unsupported extensions:

• Supported extensions: .md, .mdx, .txt, .json, .pdf, .html.

• If a file is skipped unexpectedly, check your .asiystignore or run with the --all flag:

    asiyst knowledge sync ./docs --force --verbose

GitHub Repository Sync Delays

If GitHub repository commits do not update knowledge collections automatically:

1. Confirm the Asiyst GitHub App has read permissions to the target repository.

1. In GitHub, go to Settings > Integrations > Asiyst and verify webhook events for push and release are enabled.

1. Webhook processing typically indexes new commits within 30 to 60 seconds.

Hash Mismatches & Force Sync

If content appears out of date, force a complete rebuild of the vector collection:

asiyst knowledge reindex --collection col_9f8a2b3c4d
